Story
As part of our value proposition, we want to share a brief summary of what coffee farming means to us, through the inspiring story of Gloria Burbano. Gloria is not just a coffee producer; she is a cornerstone of our community, whose dedication and leadership have left a profound impact on the lives of those around her.
In the 1980s, during the guerrilla boom in the Caquetá region, Gloria and her family were forced to leave the area where they had lived and worked for generations. Like many others, they migrated to Huila, where, after the decline of the timber and quinoa industries, coffee cultivation began to emerge as a beacon of hope.
With her background in cattle farming, maize cultivation, and sawmill work, Gloria embarked on her coffee-growing journey with determination and resilience. Through trial and error, and without formal training, she developed a deep understanding of the craft. This challenging process not only honed her expertise but also taught her to optimize resources and innovate with what was available—a skill that has since become a hallmark of her work.
Today, Gloria represents nearly four generations of her family’s dedication to coffee farming. Her leadership and example have inspired her community, helping to promote sustainable practices and strengthen local networks. Under her guidance, the coffee produced in our region has achieved an exceptional level of quality, earning recognition far beyond our borders.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share Gloria’s story and our coffee with you. Every bean tells a tale of effort, tradition, and a genuine commitment to excellence. We are confident in the value of this product and look forward to building a close and lasting business relationship.
