CrecerT: Seeds of Change in Western Huila

Origins at Los Pinos
In the lush mountains of western Huila, where the air smells of fertile soil and the horizon is painted green, the CrecerT project was born. On a farm called Los Pinos, in La Plata, Huila, Yaqueline Hernández, with her vision and passion for coffee, sparked a revolution. Her dream was simple yet powerful: to transform coffee production not only on her farm but throughout the region.

The Purpose of CrecerT
Yaqueline understood that the quality of coffee lies in the hands of those who grow it. Through CrecerT, she aimed to show local producers that with the right techniques and a focus on quality, they could improve not only their crops but also their lives. The purpose of CrecerT was clear: to teach, improve, and thrive together.

A Growing Movement
What began as a project on a single farm became a movement. Producers from across the region joined in, drawn by the promise of better coffee and better lives. Under Yaqueline’s guidance and the CrecerT initiative, these producers started experimenting and learning, sharing their successes and challenges along the way.

The Red Bourbon - A Jewel of Huila
This coffee, emblematic of the project, became proof of CrecerT’s success. A Red Bourbon with fruity and sweet flavors reminiscent of mango became the flagship of the initiative. It was more than just coffee; it was a story of hard work, community, and transformation.

Falling in Love with La Plata, Huila
Yaqueline, with a cup of her prized Red Bourbon in hand, invited everyone to taste it. "I hope you enjoy it and fall in love with La Plata, Huila," she said with a smile. And many did, discovering in every sip a story of change, community, and a brighter future for coffee producers in western Huila.
